New courts coming to Krannert Park
Indy Parks lists an active construction project at Krannert Park on the city's west side: new basketball and pickleball courts, a new playground, and improvements to the park's pond and trails. The department's own page puts completion at late 2026. Anyone planning to play there this fall should expect part of the park to still be a work site. Free outdoor courts
For free pickleball outside of a parks department fee, Lee Road Park at 6200 Lee Rd has permanent regulation nets and no reservation system, no drop-in charge. The park is on the city's northeast side and is run by the City of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department, not Indy Parks. Other free options in the city include Sahm Park on E 91st Street, with four outdoor courts lined on the tennis courts, and Ben Davis High School on the west side, with outdoor courts open after school hours and on weekends.
