Who runs this
Built by a teaching pro, not a scraper.
PickleCourtsNearMe is run by Dennis Hendrickson in Sarasota, Florida. Dennis teaches pickleball and has spent his life on racquet courts: a four-year varsity letterwinner and Division I singles player at UNC Charlotte, trained at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy, and now on the court most days coaching players from their first game to their first tournament.
Why this site exists
Most court directories tell you a venue has eight courts and stop there. That is not what a player needs. A player needs to know when open play actually runs, what level shows up, whether the courts are lit, whether it costs anything, and whether it is worth the drive. That is the information this site is being built to carry, one venue at a time.
Where the data comes from
Every venue starts from an authoritative public source: city and county parks department records, club and facility websites, and established court listings. Venues are then confirmed directly with the facility by phone. When a listing has been verified, the page says so and shows the date. When it has not been verified yet, the page says that too.
Not every venue is verified yet. The site started as a national pickleball directory and is now adding tennis and padel, open play schedules, and verified details venue by venue. Where a court count or a sport is listed as unconfirmed, that is deliberate: it is what is known, labeled honestly, rather than a guess presented as fact.
What is being added
Tennis and padel courts at venues that offer them. Open play schedules with days, times and skill levels. Local teaching pros. Leagues and ladders, starting on the Gulf Coast of Florida where they can be run in person.
Corrections and contact
Corrections, missing courts, or a club that wants its listing claimed: use the Add or Update a Court form. Every submission is read by a person, not a script.
If you run a facility and something on your page is wrong, say so and it will be fixed. If you teach and want to be listed at the courts where you coach, the same form works.
