Milwaukee Pickleball Courts: Free Outdoor Options and League Nights

Milwaukee County operates free, open play pickleball courts at parks across the city, with the outdoor season running April 1 through November 1, weather permitting. Court hours are dawn to dusk, confirmed with Milwaukee County Parks on October 13, 2026. With that close date three weeks out, this is the last stretch of outdoor play before the move indoors.

Jackson Park: the county league site

Jackson Park, at 3500 W Forest Home Ave, has 4 free outdoor pickleball courts, open dawn to dusk during the April 1 to November 1 season. Milwaukee County Parks runs organized league play on Monday evenings and Wednesday evenings, 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., at $25 per participant per session. The 2026 league ran Mondays from May 4 to September 28 and Wednesdays from May 6 to September 30, and the same weekly pattern repeats each season. Open play outside league hours is free and first come, first served, and the county also lets players reserve a court in advance through its parks website rather than show up and wait. Questions about the league or reservations go to the county Organized Sports Office at 414-257-8030.

The same county league format, same $25 per session fee and same April 1 to November 1 season, runs at two other Milwaukee County parks outside the city limits: Froemming Park in Franklin and West Milwaukee Park in West Milwaukee, each with 6 courts. Players searching across the metro, not just the city, have three county league sites to choose from on different weeknights.

Riverwalk Commons: free courts downtown

Riverwalk Commons, at 423 N Water St, has 2 free pickleball courts with permanent nets. The courts are operated by the Milwaukee Public Market and Business Improvement District #2, not the county parks system, so they run on their own schedule rather than the county league calendar. There is no league fee here, and no reservation system; it is open, first come, first served play in the heart of downtown.

More free outdoor courts in the directory

None of these three are part of the county parks system covered by the official schedule above, so they do not carry the same league nights or reservation option; they are bring your own net, show up and play.

Indoor courts for after the season closes

Once the outdoor courts close on November 1, two indoor options in the directory stay open through winter. Pulaski High School, 2500 W Oklahoma Ave, has 3 indoor courts for a one time fee. Elite Sports Club-River Glen, 2001 W Good Hope Rd, has 2 indoor courts for members or a guest fee. Neither requires waiting out a Wisconsin winter to keep playing.
