Other places to play near Sunset Park
If the tournament courts are full during the Heroes Open, or you want to play on a different day, three other verified venues are within a short drive:
- Chuck Minker Sports Complex, 275 N Mojave Rd. Three indoor wood courts. Open Monday through Thursday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. There is a one-time drop-in fee. Phone (702) 229-6563.
- Desert Breeze Community Center, 8275 Spring Mountain Rd. Three indoor courts, free to play, open Monday through Friday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Phone (702) 455-8334.
- Durango Hills Park, 3521 N Durango Dr. Seven outdoor courts, free, lit for night play, open 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Phone (702) 277-7231.
All three are run by the City of Las Vegas or Clark County and charge no reservation fee for open play, unlike Sunset Park's reservable court block.
Across the four venues in this guide, our database counts 37 courts: 24 at Sunset Park, 7 at Durango Hills, and 3 each at Chuck Minker and Desert Breeze. Sunset Park is the largest of the four by a wide margin, and the only one of the four with a tournament building, which is part of why Excel Pickleball and Southern Nevada Pickleball have run the Heroes Open there for six years running.
During the tournament window, November 5-8, expect a block of Sunset Park's 24 courts to be reserved for tournament play rather than open to drop-in players. The other three venues in this guide are not part of the tournament and keep their normal open-play hours that week.
